<p>This character is shown in a series of comics penned by Renй Goscinny and illustrated by Albert Uderzo.</p>
<p>Asterix is a heroic French fictional character who was created in 1959. He appeared in a series of French comic books entitled “Asterix” which was penned by Renй Goscinny (stories) and illustrated by Albert Uderzo. When Goscinni died in 1977, Uderzo continued the famed series and has been well-loved ever since in France.</p>
<p>The Asterix series has become one of the famed comics in France. People of all ages in the country are familiar with the character. Aside from France, he is popular in most parts of Europe.</p>
<p>His fame has also reached Canada, Brazil, Argentina, parts of South America, Chile, Africa, Kenya, Philippines, Malaysia, Colombia, Singapore, Uruguay, Indonesia and in most parts of Asia. However, Asterix is less known in Japan and USA.</p>
